2007 REVIEWED
2008.01.05 - 01:05 AMAnother year has passed and the situations facing homeless people on the streets of Victoria remain horrific.
109 people died while living homeless on the streets of Victoria in 2007, this statistic is based on the number of funeral services held at ‘Our Place’ which is the primary drop-in center in downtown Victoria. On average, 2 homeless people died every week in Victoria in 2007, up slightly from 106 deaths in 2006.

UPDATE TENT CITY CONSTITUTIONAL CHALLENGE
2007.09.05 - 08:30 PMCity:
VictoriaNews:
Today a BC Supreme Court Judge heard the City of Victoria's application for a discontinuation. In short this means that the city no longer wants to pursue charges against homeless people who set up a series of tent cities in 2005. In all likelyhood the reasoning behind this lastest ploy by the city is that they do not want to have their camping and loitering bylaws face the scrutiny of the Canadian Constituion and the Chart of Rights and Freedoms.0 comments 462 views -
