It was a tragedy but...
2006.09.11 - 12:35 PMI always remember Sept 11 in a different manner than other people. I was facilitating a harm reduction workshop at SWYM in Toronto trying to be a part of the process to help change peoples lives and get off the streets. That day in my mind set that process back because although many people parished in NY that day nothing chnaged for the situation of these people that I was trying to help. The world put so much focus and help into the post 9/11 clean up but still the people that suffered slowly everyday on the streets everywhere got no limelight and they still don't. What will it take for our society today to notice the massive homeless epidemic in our country? What will make them care? Does a acouple thousand have to die in a blown out tragedy? If so, that sickens me.
