DAMMIT JANET...ALL THIS PONTIFICATING ON POLITICS HAS ME PISSED
2007.03.23 - 09:04 PMI was having an average day. It got better when I took Seetsa (neighbour's dog) down to the lake.
I took the mud and burr covered dog home to her mom (heavy duty grooming session coming tomorrow). I better get lots of dog treats to keep the poor dog happy.
Came upstairs and got on this website, and started to get depressed.....
I can't take it any more, I'm goin' to the In and Out store.

National Day of Silence - play, eat, make love, alter your consciousness, DO WHAT YOU LIKE!!!
2007.03.21 - 01:04 PMMetis Rebel's latest rant regarding a National Do Nothing day for the working poor and homeless volunteers etc.
I think we could get it together sooner than May 1, 2008, but maybe i'm just too optimistic.
THINK OF IT!!! We'd shut down the country!!!! The majority of jobs these days are in the service sector, and pay minimum wage or sometimes less.
Should we try to pull it off one day this June or July at the height of tourist season, or will too many of these bloated CEO's that we can expect to piss off be on vacation at that time?

just breakin' the law - AGAIN
2006.09.25 - 04:06 PMhow many more times do I have to break the law just to survive?
you can only work a few hours before they take it all back in taxes
it is not worth it to risk your benefits in order to take a job that may not work out!!!!
dog knows I could use a few extra bucks, but I draw the line at certain types of employment

Peace, love and groovy bullshit
2006.09.21 - 11:26 AMJust a few thoughts for the day - I visited my pal Dri this morning and he gave me a wonderful quotation that he'd heard somewhere..."The left thinks I'm right and the right thinks I'm wrong" which is exactly why I am running as an independent.
I'm about to stir up a lot of crap with my opinions (to which I'm entitled). Please feel free to comment.
KAR KULTURE - is anyone else out there sick of all these cars?
I read an article in ODE magazine (June 2006 issue) stating that in the Netherlands, cars, bikes & people share the roads and there are very little problems with this. A town in Britain has recently tried the same thing, and guess what.....they were successful in doing something that all the naysayers said could not be done.1 comment 370 views -
FRUSTRATED INCORPORATED
2006.09.20 - 11:56 AMWell, here I am at the City Hall library checking my email. I attended what I thought might be my first all candidates debate last night at the Wellesley Institute. It was a very informative evening, sponsored by the Toronto Disaster Relief Committee and there were many fresh, young candidates for council in attendance. There was one other mayoral candidate (I believe his name was Glen Coles), but the Uber-candidates (Miller & Pitfield) were conspicuously absent. I guess homelessness is not on their agenda.
I have spent a frustrating morning (I was late for a medical appointment this morning and had to run out the door without a jacket). I am on my way to Edward Street to see if I can find a jacket in the donations pile 'cause it's a bit cold out here right now (not to mention the rain!).

Stone Soup Anyone?
2006.09.16 - 01:22 PMWhile we're on the subject of good, cheap food, I submit my recipe for POTATO SOUP (Scottish style).
Big soup pot (6 quarts)
1 beef bone
cover with water & boil till meat falls off the bone - skim off bubbles - let bone cool & give to dog
2 or 3 onions - chopped
6 carrots - grated
1/2 turnip (rutabaga) - grated
5 or 6 large potatoes - cubedThrow onions, carrots & turnip into pot and boil for about 20 minutes. Add potatoes and soup is ready when potatoes are cooked to your liking.
Add salt & pepper to taste - garnish with chopped green onions & parsley. My mom adds a splash of milk to her bowl so it cools down faster.
