DAMMIT JANET...ALL THIS PONTIFICATING ON POLITICS HAS ME PISSED
2007.03.23 - 9:04 PM
I was having an average day. It got better when I took Seetsa (neighbour's dog) down to the lake.
I took the mud and burr covered dog home to her mom (heavy duty grooming session coming tomorrow). I better get lots of dog treats to keep the poor dog happy.
Came upstairs and got on this website, and started to get depressed.....
I can't take it any more, I'm goin' to the In and Out store.

P.S. I've decided to exercise my right to play -- after all, it is Friday nite in the big smoke and I do have a couple of extra dollars. (it's a minor miracle) See you on Queen Street.

Wasn't a political day for you *laff*
This from our mayoral candidate who probably knows more about political process than all of us combined...
But the dog is very pretty now *chuckle*
MetisRebel, as a fellow history buff and after seeing that cool flick "300", read the history of Lycurgus if you don't already know of him, the guy was great, codified disciplined and gender mindful laws, and his "trick" to ensure Sparta would follow him forever was awesome, indeed lasted 500 years; how many could say that?!?! Maybe also the secret to molding strong society partially lies in the meaning behind a supposed ancient conversation between foreign and Spartan women; "Your women are the only ones who can rule men" to which the Spartans replied "we are the only women who RAISE men".
Aha I heard about it--I shall have to obtain a copy from the Swedes *wink* Will look for it today.
You'd probably love the HBO series "rome" it's psychologically astute although politically quite inaccurate. Cicero is inaccurately portrayed completely. Unfortunate too, because he was a brilliant statesman.
"I, Claudius" was fact-based. Grab that up from the Swedes if you can *wink*
