Peace, love and groovy bullshit
Just a few thoughts for the day - I visited my pal Dri this morning and he gave me a wonderful quotation that he'd heard somewhere..."The left thinks I'm right and the right thinks I'm wrong" which is exactly why I am running as an independent.
I'm about to stir up a lot of crap with my opinions (to which I'm entitled). Please feel free to comment.
KAR KULTURE - is anyone else out there sick of all these cars?
I read an article in ODE magazine (June 2006 issue) stating that in the Netherlands, cars, bikes & people share the roads and there are very little problems with this. A town in Britain has recently tried the same thing, and guess what.....they were successful in doing something that all the naysayers said could not be done.
Why couldn't we do this here. I'm so sick of greedy, selfish SUV driving ijits yakking on their cellphones while speeding into town. It wouldn't be so bad if they'd give even one other person a ride into town, or share the road with bikes, scooters, skateboards, wheelchairs, people and pets.

10% of children now have asthma. God knows how many adults.
That's from all the gas guzzling road hogging CARS clogging up the roadways. Between that and industry--20% of the population has to move away just to BREATHE [including me]
Jack Layton, when he ran for mayor platformed that he wanted to stop all vehicular traffic that was not commercial between Broadview and Bathurst, the Lake and Danforth/bloor.
Go for it Haze!

Jeffrey Sinclair: No. We have to stay here. And there's a simple reason why. Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics, and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes... [and] all of this... all of this... was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars.
