    For this Holiday Season and all year round!!!

    LET’S DO MORE THAN STICK A BANDAID ON POVERTY & HOMELESSNESS!!

    Canada’s Social Safety Net Is Broken and is in serious crisis;

    THE PROBLEM
    • BC has the highest child poverty rate in Canada at 1 in 4.
    • 80,000 people in B.C. used food banks in March – one third of those users were children.
    • People with low incomes have more health problems and die younger.

  • RE: GLOBAL CHARTER CREATED FOR THE RIGHT TO ACCESS & SHARE KNOWLEDGE FOR ALL INTERNET USERS:

    Dear Friends REALLY IMPORTANT // COMMUNITY ALERT
    FYI
    Just recently the global APC group developed and published an import document on the rights of all internet users in the form of a Charter of Rights based on Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human rights / CEDAW and other international agreements. As more and more governments are moving to curtail the rights of net users, this document could prove to be an invaluable tool for all of us who are fighting to retain the rights we are not only entitled too but have the right too. For additional info please check their website listed below. Thanks

    Subject: RE: CUTS TO LITERACY PROGRAMS /PETITION TO REVERSE/ NEW BLOGG MESSAGE

    Hi Friends REVISED
    FYI
    Note: I just recently put this message on my blogg as (liz-alligator) on www.homelessnation.org. I do hope to receive a big response from these folks.
    { I am sure you have heard by now, that the Federal Conservative government has recently made both insane and impossible cuts to / or have completely gutted programs and services with respect to eliminating "said" public access to Literacy and Computer Internet . }

    By both restricting, denying and or eliminating public access to literacy programs, computers and the internet via Libraries, Post Offices and Community Centers. The impact will affect more than 38% percent of Canadian Children, Youth, Adults and Seniors.
