Mother's Guilt
Mommy made a promise
That she can not keep
Cause Daddy cant stop doing drugs
And when I lay asleep
Mommy weeps
She feels like a failure
For not giving me my dad
The strengh in her cant go on all day
So when I sleep she feels bad
She feels like a looser
Not good enough to keep a man
Another broken family
Drugs they stole my Dad
He blames her for his problem says its her who tears him down
So she cries when im in bed at night
So I do not hear the sound
Daddy's broke his promise
To the courts he couldnt keep
Cause drugs just seem to lure him
And Mommy feels the heat
So Daddy has to go away
And Mommy wonders why
She couldn't save my Daddy
But she sings me a lulabye
And when she lies me down
In my crib so late at night
The strength she holds all day is weak from the great fight
Mommy loves my Daddy
She wishes it wasnt so
But because she could not heal him
Daddy has to go
The guilt it eats at Mommy
That my Daddy isnt here
Promise ring on her finger
But Daddy is not near
The Drugs they lure my Daddy
And the courts put him away
Salty tears a price at night
Mommy's gulit will have to pay
I will never see her tears
Mommy will never let me see
Its a pain she will hold inside her
For she feels she has failed me

Your eyes are moist, you scream and shout
As though you were a man possessed
From deep inside comes rushing forth
All the anguish you suppressed
Up on your wall hangs your degree
Your parents craved so much for you
And though you're trained to make your mark
You still don't quite know what to do
It's never too late to start all over again
To love the people you caused the pain
And help them learn your name
Oh, no, not too late
It's never too late to start all over again
Well, it's much to late to start again
To try and find a little bliss
So on your woman and your child
You release your bitterness
You drift apart some more each day
You feel the guilt and loneliness
And the God of your childhood you can't find
To save you from your emptiness
It's never too late to start all over again
To love the people you caused the pain
And help them learn your name
Oh, no, not too late
It's never too late to start all over again
You say you've only got one life to live
And when your dead your gone
Your family comes to your grave
And with tears in their eyes
They tell you, you did something wrong
"You left us alone"
Tell me who's to say after all is done
And you're finally gone, you won't be back again
You can find a way to change today
You don't have to wait 'til then....
"It's Never Too Late" [Steppenwolf]
Row, Roll, Row yer boat,
Gently down the stream.
Merrily, Merrily, Merrily, Merrily
Life is but a DREAM.
So be your own hero.
AND MAKE IT COUNT!
