Dr. Marc Spooner at the University of Regina created a video-enhanced podcast with testimonials from people experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness in Regina.
Here's a quote from him for context:
"It should not be viewed as a documentary, but rather as research aimed at concrete avenues of ACTION. It should be experienced as radio with images (try to picture what the experts are saying with your mind's eye). These are the stories of the homeless and the at-risk-of-becoming homeless, as best authentically “heard” from various degrees of “otherness.” Their stories were read and analysed with the goal of gaining a better understanding of the needs of Regina’s homeless - and to accordingly develop a specific set of recommendations based on their experiences, insights, and expertise."
He also used the expression "responsible research", which I really liked, meaning that this avenue of investigation and action is so much more meaningful with expertise coming directly from the homeless community, rather than traditional forms of research which result in something like a long text created by an "expert" or academic who has never experienced homelessness first-hand.
So here it is:
"listening to the homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless in Regina"
