St. Ann's update- July 12th, 2008: received apology for false arrest
-
Big cop show down at the inner harbour today. They're showing off and getting lots of PR. Acting Chief of Police, Bill Naughton, officially apologized to me for the false arrest from a couple weeks ago. He acknowledged that tent-city was coming and I suggested to him that prudence could allow for the cops to have their own tent in the camp... that would sprout a revolution of its own and I will deal with it when it happens. Just so you know, it didn't seem like the cops were quite ready yet to have a coup against the 'Crown' and this nonsense of their control. We do not need the cops so bad that we must sacrifice our freedom to act conscientiously or our ability to be enlightened.
Other than that, looking forward to the big TENT CITY BENEFIT SHOW tomorrow at 7:00 PM at CAMAS Books (located at Quadra and King streets... down the hill from Bay St. towards the old Roxy theater). Bring all the tent-city gear you can to donate- tents, tarps, ropes, kitchen supplies, non-perishable foods, etc... when this tent-city comes it will be sanctioned so there need not be worry about criminal collusion.
love y'all

An apology? From a cop? From the cop? That's impressive.
