VANCOUVER - A Vancouver man who attacked four homeless men in separate attacks two years ago was sentenced today, the Vancouver Police Department announced in a press release.
Chang Kyun Kim, 46, was sent to jail for 16 years.
The attacks occured in the downtown core of Vancouver between Sept. 2 and 11, 2006. Kim would walk up to the men and without warning or provocation, slash their throats, police said.
Quick work by paramedics and witnesses saved the men's lives, as their injuries were severe and life-threatening. They are understandably still traumatized by what happened, the release said.

yah, i remember when this happened. there was alot of confusion and fear on the street.
i am not sure what was going on for chang that contributed to these acts, mental health, etc. but i am glad that he will not be able to hurt anyone else on the street.
sending people to jail is sometimes a weird thing. on one hand i feel like it is good, he is getting what he deserves and i am happy the courts took the these acts of violence against the homeless seriously. on the other hand i wonder if this individual will get the help he clearly needs in jail or if he will just become more hardened, violent or hateful. i guess that is an unanswerable question.
