Hi JACK:

As you've joined this nation of homeless, you can please relay this message to your counterparts in office. I AM, demanding their unconditional surrender in the 'WAR on the POOR'.
You WILL ADD "Poverty & Homelessness" to the Human Rights Act.
You WILL SUBTRACT "Cannabis" from the criminal codes entirely and it shall remain FREE of legislation as a recognition of that which was made by GOD and ruled by NATURAL LAW which is greater than man's corrupt rules. If you'd like a little background then please visit & explore "Ancient's History".
http://ancientclown.blogspot.com
I AM, who I AM, come to 'END all WAR'...EITHER with your surrender or your destruction...I give you that choice and that choice alone.
Those who show no mercy...shall receive none.

your humble servant,
Ancient Clown

Dear Jack;

It is written that; "By your deeds, shall your name be written in the 'Book of Life'."
As it is written, so shall it be.
Your lack of action is as evident on this site as it is mirrored in government and the quality of life for all Canadians. I say for Canadians, and not just the Homeless because where the rights of one are denied, they deny us all.
Where the abuses of one are inflicted, they inflict us all.
Where the cries of one are ignored, they ignore us all.
As you have not responded to anyone here, I doubt you have ever returned to read it, but should that occur, I recommend you visit a post called Social Justice.
your humble servant,
Ancient Clown

I don't know why everybody goes so easy on the NDP I mean they're just a bunch of politicians trying to get into power too aren't they? Perhaps they are a lesser of 3 evils (or not) but that does still make them evil doesn't it? In the next Ontario provincial election I'm voting none of the above, I'm declining my ballot, it gets counted a lot more than not voting at all and I won't have that dirty feeling after leaving the ballot box.
It's really quite simple, I'll always be in opposition, as long as there is a political party in power and there comes a time to decide between what is right for the people or right for the party, the politicians will always choose what is best for the party, to maintan their power.
VOTE NONE OF THE ABOVE

Cheers,
KoLiN

Well Jack we are old acquaintances you and I.

It's easy to say, "More housing". What does that mean, exactly? I'm a simple person with a concrete mind. My questions are:

1) How MUCH housing?
2) What date will people be living in it?
3) If there is not that amount of housing in the time promised, will that politician resign his/her post, give to a housing provider every dime they collected in paycheques between the time of the promise and the time it was broken and never run for office again? [since their integrity is questionable]

If a politician can't answer those questions--further discussion seems pretty much pointless.

[Over dinner, new Babylon 5 "political officer" Julie Masante asks Sheridan about "lurkers".]
John Sheridan: It's our version of the homeless. In many ways, we have the same problem Earth does.
Julie Masante: Mmm. Earth doesn't have homeless.
John Sheridan: Excuse me?
Julie Masante: We don't have the problem. Yes, there are some "displaced" people, here and there, but, uh… they've chosen to be in that position. They're either lazy, or they're criminal, or they're mentally unstable.
John Sheridan: They can't get a job!
Julie Masante: EarthGov has promised a job to anyone that wants one. So, if someone doesn't have a job, they must not want one.
. . .
[Masante runs down a list of all the social problems EarthGov has suddenly solved.]
John Sheridan: And, uh w-when exactly did all this happen?
Julie Masante: When we rewrote the dictionary.

fix the link there Kolin--it doesn't work!

arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh....

It's even LESS "democratic" that that Kolin. All MP[P]'s must "vote the party" which means it doesn't give a ratz azz if your entire constituancy is up in arms about something--if that party has an official position you MUST vote their way or resign your seat [or become an independent].

How's that for useless?

Mr Layton, after watching your recent tirades on CBC/CTV against excessive bank fees and guns (and while I agree bank fees ought to be no more than 50¢ yet strongly disagree for more gun controls given civilian disarmament is exactly what the neo-feudalists crave for future control), so will enjoin you with this plea, to PLEASE focus your immense influence & talents on securing a Guaranteed Livable Income plus throw in RAMPANT affordable housing for good measure; the souls wandering this site and those even less able to visit herein likely would demand nothing less, thanks.

This is the truth of the downtrodden, and ALL civilizations are JUDGED by how they treat it's most weak and vaunerable. I would like to see how many REAL dollars get spent on; feeding the poor, getting more "green energy", homes for the homeless, get our resources back in Canada and stop selling out to the US. And giving the First Nations free reign on what they need and want. Hey we should be asking them if it's O.K. if we take this first growth or put a wally werld on an ancient gravesite we should be getting permission from the Elders not from Bill Gates or whatever multinational wants to destroy! I hate to quote a US president but..."this will not stand" Who asked me if it was O.K. to spend $1,600 on a flag? or $25,000?(or more?) for an olympian clock? And a guards posted at said time piece 24X7? NO ONE BECAUSE THE POOR DON'T COUNT!

I like it!.... WELL DONE!....O.K!.....you can pretend I'm Jack O.K.?!....."[ahem] well yes we will address that when we get elected, and I promise that we will find a way to get the homeless off the streets and into some decent housing."

Now to this I say....... LIES LIES LIES!

I dont vote, because I pretty much side with Kolin in this issue. But I would like to see someone in, who cares about poverty, and is not afraid to open up safe injection houses and safe houses, and subsidized housing and up the welfare, and help clean up this environment. But, this is what I want to see done, and you know what? I dont think it necessarily means that we need a government. But alas, an election is going to happen, and if I were to vote this year, it would be NDP.
