Hello,
I will be starting the weekly workshop soon, at Our Place and the Downtown Activity Centre. I will post the exact days and times shortly.

Sorry. Monique. I know this sounds ungrateful. But I express myself as I see it.I've had my academic background. No workshops. Thankyou. If you want this camera back give me a time and place.I express myself so as to be published. If I use a camera i will learn on my own. Paulfburnside.

There won't be a workshop today, November 20, because I'm sneezing & coughing and I don't want to spread the germs.

I'll be at Our Place again next Thursday from 1 to 3 pm.

I'll be at Our Place again on Thursday from 1 to 3. If you're interested, I can show you how to become a member of Homeless Nation, create your account, make a short video and upload it on the website, and much more.

See you on Thursday!

Hi Monique,

Nice to meet you. And yes, to say that John's busy is an understatement. Not only is he the only free tenant's advocate in the city, as far as I know... he also deals with tenants up-island as well, because some time ago the Residential Tenancy Branch that used to be up-island closed... so that means that any tenants on this whole freakin Vancouver Island that have issues with their landlords and end up in Arbitration Court, do so here in Victoria. Which means that John has got more clients in need of an advocate to represent them at Arbitration Hearings than he can possibly even imagine. And because TAPS is a non-profit which relies on funding from very few places, their budget just isn't big enough to be able to afford more than 3 or 4 paid staff advocates... the rest of the advocates are volunteer, and part-time. The need far outweighs the help that's available. So... my suggestion to you would be to maybe just write up a brief letter outlining who you are, and what you're doing with this Renoviction film... which, by the way, I think is a fantastic idea.... and mail it off to him, or drop it by the office downtown one afternoon (corner of Quadra + Fort). That way he'll be sure to read it when he gets a moment, and I'm sure he'd get back to you about your desire to interview him. He'd be a wealth of valuable stories and knowledge for your film, for sure.

I'll try to get down to Our Place one of these afternoons and hopefully meet you in person. Until then... keep up the great work. bye for now -Linda.
