HOMELESS NATION CELEBRATES 1 YEAR IN VICTORIA
I have been working on the streets of Victoria for one year now and have met many incredible homeless people who have opened themselves up to my camera and shared their point-of-view on this website. I have witnessed many giving people trying their best to help more than 1,200 homeless people counted in the small city. I have also been amazed at the lack of support and the arrogance of the many leaves of government as they do little while 106 people died on the street of Victoria in 2006. Premier Gordon Campbell and his BC Liberal party have dubbed British Columbia 'The Best Place on Earth' Victoria is the capital of this province. Here are a few excerpts from members of Homeless Nation living in Victoria.

Hi Richard, Mark here, someone got into my last profile and I am using a new one. Shane Kelly has been guilting his mom (little old lady) saying he is living on a park bench, blankets stolen by patrol in Victoria, his welare cut off, anything to make her feel guilty. My concern is his mom coming out there, she wants to. Can you check to see if he is not accessing services. His mom can't afford to come there, I have her going back to Alanon so she has others to talk to about her feelings. She went back for her first meeting Thursday evening and it went well. He's got her so worked up and she is up there in age and my concern is this is the wrong thing for her to do. She wants to rescue him. What are you thoughts. Richard can you email me back at: mstathis@shaw.ca
Thanks Richard
