not forgotten

Unfortunatley I found out that 2 people I was close to on the street have died recently. It's the third death in a short time and I'm so sad it's hard to keep the tears back long enough to focus on studying-the reason I'm studying is to try and change all this, to make some sort of a difference. I feel helpless to stop the deaths right now. Funding for homelessness seems to be slowing evaporating and since the olympics bid all sense of humanity in this city is gone. Condos are being built all around us, people are obsessed with making money, and setting this city up for the olympics. People on the street are being ignored, it seems as though all the city is doing is researching how to build more jails to put them away so no one will have to see them. It's so sad and I feel a sense of hopelessness, people in our community are dying and no one seems to care except to appreciate one less person taking up space on the sidewalk upsetting the tourists. These people are beautiful human beings, who I love and every time one of them dies a piece of my heart goes with them. When will people realize that this is not a "problem" that we need to deal with, but that these are human lives, daughters, sons, grand daughters, grandsons, mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers. These are people that I will always remember and care for and a piece of my heart goes with them.

Yes,Greetings its JBird(ahemm.JHOck)I so miss you and the crew up there in Van...I've been doing some major road work touring up the fest's which took me to Alberta for two major shows(MotionNotion&SouthCountryFair).I hear what your saying about the money dring up which is unfortuante cause if I was equiped with a cam&mik then I could have taken a lot of interviews and pics.Cause I feel it would be really good to get to peeps when they are at festivals and reality of it is when the festivals are over then bam there goes Reality upside the head and in comes the hopelessness that your feeling and many others as it is getting critical.A major Human Conscieousness has to break us from this shitstem and to create a better world. So I felt very moved to responed to your blog Nat.and just to say Im there with you in this Sadness also with the Joyful times basicially the whole package...keep smiling girrl...Much Respect...JH
