i miss you vancouver
after trying to find a place for my partner and i and our dog to live in vancouver with no success, i've come back to edmonton to take care of myself. being pregnant and homeless, you'd think we would be a high priority for someone but we weren't. skippy has now given little maybe to the spca and he's been adopted by someone with a big heart, because it's literally IMPOSSIBLE to find a place to live with a dog. i'm so sad and rundown and freaking TIRED OF PEOPLES BULLSHIT. there's gonna be a new life in this world, you'd think someone who has the power to help actually would've.
my baby deserves to know their father from the moment their born, but if we don't have a place to live, i can't come back to van city. i miss my partner, i miss van, i miss my friends.
This is the kinda story that is alll to really for thousands of us across Canado nathing. The people who run this country do not see the value of caring for another human being because their vision is being cloud by such things as the Olympics just like when we had EXPo both here in BC and Quebec. I think that it is well pass the time for all the homeless and the people who support us to stand up and take action and show there communities that we can stand together in solidairy and do a national day of action. You should check what we are doing in Vic in our attemt to make Tent City legal.
I dont get it, when i lost my job, I just went to welfare and got a check for first and last, then i got a room. That's just me, u with a kid, would get more money and welfare would give u enough to get a place even faster then i did. So i dont get why u people have to suffer on the actual street or under bridge and stuff. Welfare isnt the best system but it will at least get u of the cold streets. Untill u find a job or somthin. Which ther is lots of jobs, i would just work at a temp agency. But anyway i grew just as bad, i grew up in the projects and shit. Struggled with gangs gun violence and being just poor. SO Keep your head up, lates.
