So...I am in Toronto and lost

2007.07.25 - 7:02 PM

So I am in Toronto and I have no idea where anything is. I was able to find the public library (yay!) but I have no idea where to find a good squeegie corner or a good park/bridge to sleep. Any ideas?

focus on patience and it will see you through anything and everything... victoria in the fall might be quite an adventure as far as the catalyst evolution of the 'tent-city' phenomenon is concerned.

Toronto's a big city so it all depends where you are. I'm guessing you probably want to head down to queen Street West. To do that you need to find your way to a subway station, transit here costs $2.75, all buses eventually will go to a subway station, get a transfer when you get on. you eventually want to be heading south on either the Yonge St. or University Ave. subway lines. Get off at the Queen St. stop if you're on the Yonge line or the osgoode stop if you're on the university line. once you're on Queen if you travel west, away from the Eaton Centre you'll soon hit muchMusic where you'll find a good panning spot, continue to spadina and you'll find squeegee corners and you're close to youthlink inner city drop-in. Continue west to Bathurst and you're at the Meeting place Drop-in. People are crashing in Bellwoods park west of Bathurst, i just walked through there on my way here.
Good Luck

Squeegeeing
I just came from Toronto, and I usually hit up Spadina and Front, Queen and Spadina, or Queen and bathurst as far as squeegeeing went. I was sleeping under the Bathurst bridge (but most people find that place a little dirty because your sleeping under a decade and a half worth of bulldozed over piss and shit)
Sleeping
Then there is the Spadina street bridge, or the alley behind sketch, or Alexandra Park (also near a public library), or Trinity Bellwood park (say hi to Justin for me).

Eats

Hit up Youth Link and a lot of people will be able to give you some good advice. They also have some pretty kick ass free breakfast nowaday's.

But like your friend said, Toronto sucks.
