No more condos

This city has so much space that could be utilized , and yet all we seem to be worried about is how many condos can we build and how quickly. There is a space around the corner from the Gathering Place that used to be the old SYS. This space has been empty for almost two years and nothing has been done with it. For so many years that space was a place where homeless youth could go to get support, food, and get off the street for a while. There were people who genuinely cared and wanted to help regardless of how old the kids were or what they had done. We need another place like that. There are too many youth and adults who are turned away for all the wrong reasons and have no where to go when they really need help. Too many people are dying and too much money is being spent on services that no one can actually get into. When will people see how dire this situation is? When will we start spending money on the things that really matter, the amazing people in our community that need help.

We are only a step away from re-creating an equalitarian society if we let go of our dominion.

They have so much space that have been there for a long time such as the old nursing school on cook, they won't do nothing like that they might lose some money for some dum reason... in that place that takes about 2 blocks they could shelter at least 200 people... you think they'll do the right thing... 5yrs ago my brother and I went and talk to the old nunes next door they slam the door on our face, we went back with an offer to get a grant to take care of it, they slam the door on our face, 3 yrs later and I don't know how many letters later we were told that they were gona make it into something useful... as if this wasn't something useful... then I moved away....
talk later
