Suggestions
Hi everyone!!! I need some suggestions on what to do. I'm having a serious problem with where I live regarding being able to sleep. The person who lives above me comes home approximately between 1:30 and 3:30am, and makes tons of noise,,, wakes me up from a nice sleep every morning. I have told the ladlord about it 3 times,,, but it doesn't seem to be helping at all. I have a very hard time getting back to sleep after he finally shuts up around 4:30 - 5am,,, and I wake up at 8:30am. I only get 2 or 3 hours of sleep per night because of this,,, and it's not healthy for me at all. What can I do??? PLEASE HELP!!! Thanx!!!
Kevin!!!

Whats he like when you talk to him about it? Your landlord probably wont be much help, but you should definitely pressure him to speak to the guy if he isn't responding to your nice side...good luck Kevin, hope the guy comes to his senses
I've been through that one many times, Wolf.
There's a number of options and I'd start at the beginning first.
What kind of noise does he make? It's it loud tromping and such or does he blast the walls with his stereo until the floors rattle?
In any case, try telling him you need to sleep. Be courteous. See if you can get him to agree [if it's the stereo] on what weekend nights and daytime you're willing to let him get loud and when you are not home so he can be free to blast away without you there.
I once had a group of young students living above me and we came to the understanding that they could party hardy every 2nd Friday and we would never call the cops or bug them if they kept it to that. It worked out for everyone.
Ask the fella what hours HE needs to sleep. Maybe you can both be respectful of each other's needs. Maybe no one before you tried that and blew him outta bed every day. Having worked nights I know that most people don't care if they make a racket in the daytime so nobody might ever have tried negotiating with him before.
If it's tromping and stomping and your place is an old house, request that he or the landlord put down underpadding and carpet.
You DO need to sleep regardless Wolf.
Honestly, I have moved out of more places because the noise level was outrageous than any other reason.
I've found landlords and cops mainly useless in this situation. Sometimes negotiating works better.
If he has a phone give the number to all your friends adn bug the guy for the rest of his life. Send away for funeral plot info in his name. Good luck.
