DTES residents and their supporters were present for the opening of the “Downtown Eastside Connect” (dtesconnect.ca), a new centre operated by the Province of BC, at Woodward’s on Monday Feb 1st. This centre will be used to inform Olympic foreign media about the BC government’s version of the Downtown Eastside, housing and homelessness. The Government doesn't give a shit about homeless, cause if they did the Olympics that cost over 5 billion according to VOCM NEWS, would not have happened. A message really needs to get sent to the public and to the government. We should all get together and start up an event that will rally around Government buildings. something unique like a human chain around Parliament and our provincial Government sending the message to them that we really need help.
