Walk 4 Justice Update
I spoke with Rose Henry this afternoon on telephone from above a river bed in Bragg Creek. She is walking to Barrier B.C today, she and 17 other walkers were heading there this afternoon. She made a request for walkers and any folks who have cars that can help them.
Rose sounded really strong and good spirited. I will be calling her tonight and updating more information for tomoroo!
The women, and at least one man, are walking an average of 20 - 30 kms a day, Rose stated. One elder made a HUGE feat by walking up hill aproximatly 12 kms!
These women are my heroe's, in the old pagan womyns way, they were called Hera's. Thus the goddess Hera. Their bravery is inspiring others, myself inicluded, to make plans to meet this Herstorical walk to Ottawa. The timing is critical, attacks on our elders and our children and women are on the rise. Violence must end!
Please go to Walk 4 Justice website and read the words of Gladys Radek, the woman from Downtown Eastside Vancouver who had this great vision. Greetings also to Bernie Williams and Rose Henry! I think of you all daily and look forward to greeting you all in Calgary!
Everyone check out the web site and greet these warriors/elders as they journey towards ending violence against women and children, ultimatly, all violence.
