I sent a message to the Homeless Nation staff this morning, now I want to reach all of you, the members and participants of this site who make it the amazing project/work of art/educational tool/forum for activism/story-telling/useful information sharing/friend connector/dialogue creator/and more, more, more - that it is.
Homeless Nation is a finalist for a Canadian New Media Award in the category of "Excellence in Social Media Websites". The winner will be announced in October.
I wanted to take a moment to THANK YOU - YES, YOU!! Every single person who courageously shares your story so that Canada has a chance to hear what life is like for individuals who are struggling to survive, for those of you who refuse to be ignored, and demand that Cananda can DO BETTER FOR EVERYONE.
The truths that you share make this website amazing.

thats awesome for H/N to be a finalist for a Canadian New Media Award..it just shows the good work and heart stories coming out of the sight..I can't believe how much i have grown and learnt while being with H/N...I did a interview for our street soccer game and although a wee-bit nervous in front of all those cam's i have to give credit to all the filming i have done that i was able to express myself and hit the message HOME......Thank-YOu Alexandra for your Thank-YOus...lets find out come October...blessings..JH
