Temp home...

2008.06.03 - 12:56 PM

Well, I have a temp home now. Went through treatment and cleaned up again from my addiction. Now i'm staying in a homeless shelter till the 15th. Need to try to figure out how to get a job when you have no home, & how to get a home when you have no job. Fuck its hard. I'm currently trying to see if my social worker will set me up in a place to stay as right now medicaly they say i'm "unable to work" but she's pretty hard, I think she would rather see me on the street. I dunno. I keep praying things will work out & going out everyday trying to see what cheap rooms or appartments I can find, and looking for jobs. But its not going all that well. At least i'm lucky that the people running the homeless shelter are the same people who I goto church with & part of the big church who sponsored our city center church. Anyways... running out of net time at the library. Thanks for the supportive messages from people. I appreciate the help. BTW I'm also keeping track of who helps so we can update the listing for saskatoon. There isn't much help here, but there is more then just the salvation army.

Saskatoon has an affordable housing reserve - can they help you? I found this number online:

For More Information
Housing Reserve Application Form
City Contact
Phone: (306) 975-3340

If you are deemed medically unable to work by your social worker, she has to make sure you receive federal disability benefits.

Thanks for sharing your story, we are reading and wishing you the best of luck and hoping solutions come your way. Please keep us posted on what happens to you after the 15th.
Alexandra
